We pay special attention to the protection of personal information and make sure that data is always processed in a fair and transparent manner, which is conditional on the proper provision of information on processing.

This Privacy Notice includes information on how your, as the data subject’s, data is processed when providing our services: the sources and the scope of the data processed, the legal basis for the processing, its purpose and duration, the rights associated with personal data and how you can choose between these rights; it also presents the contact details you can use to inquire about our privacy procedures.

We serve the players of the Hungarian dairy industry from a unique position with our core activity covering the entire spectrum of innovation in the dairy sector: R&D, product development, pilot production, state-of-the-art and quality lab services, and the distribution of special food ingredients and additives.

Accordingly, we perform the following processing activities: registration on the Website, which can take place when an order is placed for our product for the first time; operation of an on-line shop on the Website and fulfilment of the orders placed for our products, including processing related to the settlement of claims; communication with the data subject; the use of cookies on the Website; investigation of the complaints lodged by data subjects and the retention of documents which we have a legal obligation to do.

Subjects of the processes involving the handling of personal data by the Controller include persons registering on the Website, persons placing an order for our products, addressees of the cookies we use, persons maintaining contact with us, persons lodging a complaint with us (collectively as the “data subject”).

Data pertaining to the orders placed for our products are processed for the full period during which the service is provided to you and an additional five years during which consumer protection and general civil claims can be enforced.

4.3

Data processed for the purpose of communication between the Controller and the data subject, legal basis for and duration of the processing

4.3.1

The legal basis for processing data for the purpose of communicating with you is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

4.3.2

To communicate with you, we process the following data: Your surname, first name, email address, and telephone number; the reason why you contacted us and its category.

4.3.3

To make communication easier and more efficient, we provide a dedicated interface on the Website.

4.3.4

To communicate with you, your data are processed until you withdraw your consent or, in the absence of such withdrawal, as long as our service is provided to you and, generally, an additional five years during which general civil claims can be enforced.

4.4

Data processed for the purpose of investigating the complaints filed by data subjects, legal basis for and duration of the processing

4.4.1

To investigate the complaints you lodge, we process the following data: The unique identifier of the complaint, the place and time of complaint filing, the documents you send, the list of other pieces of evidence, the content of the complaint, the content of the records of the complaint, the response to the complaint, your surname, first name, email address, and telephone number.

4.4.2

To investigate the complaints you lodge, we retain the records of the complaint you file and a copy of our response for five years as defined in Section 17/A(7) of Act CLV of 1997 on Consumer Protection.

4.5

Data processed for the purpose of complying with our obligation to retain documents, legal basis for and duration of the processing

4.5.1

To comply with our obligation to retain documents, we process the following data: Source documents that, directly or indirectly, substantiate bookkeeping accounts closely related to the sale of our products.

4.5.2

Data security, persons authorised to access the data

6.1

At the end of the duration of the processing, we delete your data.

6.2

We ensure the security of the data processed and take every measure to prevent unauthorised access to, alteration, transfer, disclosure, deletion, destruction or accidental destruction or corruption of such data, and to protect against such data becoming inaccessible due to any change of the technology applied, that is, to ensure the protection of your personal data as per the relevant legislation.

6.3

As a measure to comply with the requirements of data security, we process your data in a computer database both automatically and manually, and have taken steps to ensure that your data are processed in a closed and at all times password-protected system saving your data to a hard disk, where such systems are used by persons entitled to access your data only in connection with the provision of services and to the extent as is necessary for this purpose.

6.4

The computer systems are equipped with a firewall and have appropriate virus protection.

6.5

We carry out technical checks on the system and in case an error is detected or reported, we take the necessary steps.

6.6

We make sure that the persons authorised to access your data are fully informed of the data protection rules.

As a privacy safeguard, our senior officers and employees are bound by confidentiality and are liable for the personal data they access during their activity.

6.7

Information concerning the persons visiting the Website, information made available to us when data subjects use their computers, and the IP addresses of such persons are logged for the purpose of generating Website traffic data and detecting potential errors and attempted attacks.

IP addresses are not linked to any other data based on which visitors to the Website or you can be identified.

When visiting the Website, no cookies or web bugs other than those specified in this Privacy Notice are downloaded.

6.8

The following persons are authorised to access the data processed as detailed below, according to the duration of processing:

Your personal data processed for the purpose of registering on the Website – which can be done when placing an order for our product for the first time – or communication until you withdraw your consent or, in the absence of such withdrawal, for a duration of five years can be accessed by the head of our trade department, warehouse manager, warehouse staff, product manager, and senior employees.

Your personal data processed for the purpose of fulfilling the orders you place for our products or investigating the complaint you file for a duration of five years can be accessed by our managing director, financial manager, head of the trade department, warehouse manager, warehouse staff, and product managers.

Your personal data processed for the purpose of complying with our obligation to retain documents for a duration of eight years can be accessed by our analytical accountants and bookkeeping staff.

The rights of data subjects, remedies

7.1

You can exercise the rights listed under this section by sending an email to mtki@mtki.hu or by post sending a letter to our postal address.

7.2

At your request, we will inform you in writing or by electronic means (Article 15(1) of the GDPR; right of information) of the following: what data about you are being processed, the purposes of the processing, the categories of recipients to whom we may disclose the personal data, the duration of the processing, the rights of data subjects and the available remedies.

7.3

At your request, we will provide you with a copy of the data in a commonly used electronic form or another form of your choice (Article 15(3) of the GDPR; right of access, right to obtain a copy).

7.3

At your request, we will change or rectify your personal data and will also allow you the possibility to do so in your user profile (Article 16 of the GDPR; right to rectification).

7.5

At your request, we will erase your personal data.

We may refuse such request only on the grounds listed in Article 17(3) of the GDPR, for example, when the processing of personal data is necessary for the establishment or exercise of legal claims, or for compliance with a legal obligation which requires processing by Union or Member State law to which we are subject or for reasons in the public interest, or for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information. 7.6

You can withdraw the consent you have given to processing for the purpose of registration, the use of cookies that require consent, and communication at any time, without any restriction or having to give any reason, free of charge.

In such a case, we will erase all your personal data immediately (right to withdraw consent). The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

7.7

You have the right to request the restriction of processing. If you contest the accuracy of the personal data, you can request the restriction of processing until we can verify the accuracy of the personal data.

If the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of the personal data, you can request the restriction of their use instead.

If we no longer need the personal data, but you request them for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims (Article 18 of the GDPR; right to restriction of processing).

We will fulfil your request for restriction by storing such personal data separated from other personal data.

For example, electronic data files will be saved to an external storage device, or personal paper data will be moved to a separate folder.

Except for storage, we will only process your data with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the Union or of a Member State.

We will notify you in advance if the restriction of processing is lifted for such reasons.

7.8

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller.

Moreover, at your request, we will ensure that your personal data are transmitted directly from us to the controller of your choice (Articles 20(1) and (2) of the GDPR; right to data portability).

7.9

We will notify you of the measures taken within one month of the receipt of your request.

If your request is rejected, we will notify you of the grounds of refusal within one month of the receipt of your request and that you can lodge a complaint with the Authority and have the right to judicial redress.

7.10

You can exercise these rights free of charge. In certain cases, we may charge a fee based on administration costs or refuse to act on your request if you request a copy of your data or if your request is clearly unfounded or excessive, especially when recurrent.

7.11

We reserve the right to request information to confirm your identity if we have reasonable doubt about the identity of the person making the request.

This may especially be the case when you exercise your right to obtain a copy, where it is reasonable for us to make sure that the request is submitted by the eligible person.

7.12

Before taking any of the actions listed in this section, you can file a complaint with us by electronic means so that your concerns about the processing can be addressed and we can revert to lawful processing.

We will examine your complaint within a month, record your complaint, decide whether it is valid, and notify you of the decision in writing by electronic means.

If we find that your complaint is valid, we will revert to lawful processing or discontinue processing your data, including the further collection and transfer of data.

In such a case we may no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or are related to the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

Every party to whom the data concerned have been transferred will be notified of your complaint and the measures taken.

The aim of the complaint procedure under this section is to address the concerns you have about processing through communication between us and is not applicable to statements made in connection with the enforcement of consumer rights related to our products (warranty claims, guarantee, cancellation, withdrawal).

7.14

If you think we have violated any of your rights related to the protection of personal data, you can bring the matter to court and put forward a claim for damages caused to you by the unlawful processing of your personal data or the breach of data security, or you can claim compensation if your personality rights have been violated.

You can apply to the regional court of your domicile or place of residence if you decide to go to court.

8.1

Your computer stores cookies when you visit a website. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by the browser to save some information.

The Website uses Google AdWords and its conversion tracking and remarketing code features.

Google AdWords sets a cookie for conversion tracking when you click on an ad served by Google.

If you visit certain pages of the Website, Google and we can recognise that you clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page.

The information gathered using the conversion cookie is used to generate statistics for AdWords clients who have opted for conversion tracking.

These statistics tell us the total number of users who clicked on the ad served by Google and were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page.

Google Remarketing allows us to reach users who have previously visited the Website.

This way we can target our ads at consumers who have already shown an interest in our products or services.

Facebook pixel

The Facebook pixel lets us track user-defined target groups and conversion events.

Thus, several custom events can be sent to a page and additional data can be collected from the link URL.

This allows us to record and analyse specific action patterns so we can assess in detail the efficiency of our ad and the audience targeted to optimise our ads and make them more attractive.

Persistent cookies last longer.
